This place is tucked away from the tourists in Caseville and Port Austin. If your looking for a cozy,quiet,relaxing place... this is it. There is great fishing right out your front door and a few charter boats available throughout the season. Please be respectful of the residents,families, water and land while having fun.
Very nice place. Awesome location on the bay. Clean comfortable cabins. Everything you need for your trip is in the cabins. It's like home away from home. Excellent management. They are very kind and accommodating. Walking distance to a nice bar/restaurant.
We loved our stay at Whalen's. It was cozy, clean, peaceful and the views were wonderful. It is a perfect location to see many grand Michigan sights, Turnip Rock and the lighthouse were our favorites, but we also saw a great deal of wildlife. The best part was the people who work there. They treat you like family! We really enjoyed the many moments we spent sharing life with Jean. She made my trip by recommending an awesome boat tour to Turnip Rock! Kathy was really kind too. We also liked that the cabin was fully stocked with all we needed. We liked learning more of the history of Grindstone's too. Great trip!
We stayed in cabin #3 for just one night. It's a nice tiny cozy cabin right next to the office. They were very welcoming and offered us coffee right inside the office. Cabins are stocked with dishes, cookware, blankets and towels. Very clean. You can also take a nice walk out back by the boats.
Very nice place! We enjoyed our stay, wish it had been longer. Our "room" was an apartment, fully stocked kitchen with full refrigerator, nice large flat screen t.v.. Very quiet and peaceful. Only negative was the 2 full size beds were more like a larger twin, would have preferred one queen or king in the room, but otherwise very clean !
All of the staff we met were amazing! The cabin we stayed in was super clean and the bath towels were super soft. Beds were extremely comfortable as well. Kitchen was fully stocked, we didn't need anything other than food. The view from our cabin was beautiful. We had a great stay! Can't wait to visit again!
Been going here since I was a kid. The rooms are always nice and clean, the atmosphere is peaceful and inviting, you always feel like you're at home here. Love this place
Everyone was so nice! At check in the person helping me when out of her way to show me a few things, tell me some tips, and was just so extremely helpful and nice! The cabin was clean and perfect- the shower house was also very clean. Came home Sunday- on Monday I was calling to set more reservations!!!
